The Year of Truly Wireless Power: Wi-Charge and the Promise of Long-Range Wireless Charging Building a Head of Steam as 2019 Approaches05 December 2018
It’s been a strong second half of 2018 for Wi-Charge. Here are some of our biggest accomplishments that are fueling our innovation and business momentum as we head into the new year:
- Wi-Charge showcased its new AnyTable™ wire-free charging station at Pepcom’s Holiday Spectacular in San Francisco. The AnyTable charging station combines the popular magnetic induction (“Qi”) charging technology with long-range wireless power by Wi-Charge to deliver phone charging at any table without regard to proximity to power outlets. Additionally, Wi-Charge announced a new partnership with Kube Systems, provider of customized charging solutions for commercial hospitality use, providing a new integrated charging product targeted at the hospitality industry.
- Wi-Charge and Swiss company Monolicht collaborated to integrate Wi-Charge power transmitters into Monolicht’s lighting panels. This unique integration, which was showcased at Mobile World Congress Americas, provided a peek into the future of lighting – a future where fixtures deliver more than just light.
- Wi-Charge and ZKTeco USA showcased another unique integration at Mobile World Congress Americas, demonstrating the potential for a high-end, multi-biometric door lock with the Wi-Charge long-range wireless power receiver. With this integration, it’s easy to see how battery replacements are a thing of the past, and highly-desired capabilities for consumers can be added by manufacturers with ease.
We’ve also generated a great deal of media buzz over the past few weeks. In November we released the world’s first Wireless Power Kit that transforms – within minutes – an existing wired Amazon Echo Dot or Google Home Mini smart speakers into a beautiful, fully functional, wire-free product. The converted smart home speakers can be placed and used anywhere without cables or proximity to a power outlet.
Wi-Charge also announced the official “Powered by Wi-Charge OEM Program,” a new program aimed at helping select partners bring wirelessly-powered products to market. The Wireless Power Kits for Amazon Echo Dot and Google Home Mini were made available as a reference design for our prospective OEM partners. Such products might be wireless smart home speakers, home security devices, phone charging solutions and many additional innovative products that were previously constrained by battery power or power cords.
Moreover, we’re proud to announce that for the second year in a row Wi-Charge has been selected as a CES Innovation Award recipient. Recognized in the Home Audio/Video product category, Wi-Charge’s Wireless Power Kit for Amazon Echo and Google Home will be on display in the Innovation Awards Showcase at CES 2019. Continuing with the accolades, Wi-Charge added more hardware to the mantelpiece after being named the Most Innovative Consumer Product of the Year by the Best in Biz Awards.
Check out some of the notable media placements Wi-Charge received based on its latest news:
