Wi-Charge and Alarm.com collaborated to show a unique demonstration at CES 2019. The demonstration shows a prototype evolution of a Schlage smart lock, as part of an Alarm.com smart home security system, utilizing Wi-Charge’s long-range wireless power technology – allowing users to see the convenience and peace of mind that wireless charging can bring to the smart home
“We believe that long-range wireless power will unlock innovative new uses for the smart home and business where devices don’t always have easy access to power. As a leader in the space, we are continually developing innovative technology that we believe facilitates adoption and improves the ownership experience of connected property solutions. “
Allegion and Wi-Charge collaborated to demonstrate an integration of Wi-Charge technology into Schlage smart locks. Power delivery to smart home devices such as battery-powered smart locks, cameras and sensors is an issue for manufacturers and consumers alike. The existing choices between the convenience of batteries and the power of wired devices limits the features that can be added by developers and used by consumers. Consumers are also forced to deal with low battery notifications and battery replacements, or find that devices may lack features when not plugged into an AC outlet.
“At Allegion, we are always listening to customer feedback and exploring new ways to improve their experience as well as grow our smart home portfolio, For more than 95 years, Schlage has been creating innovative door hardware designed to make everyday life easier, which is why Allegion is excited about the opportunity to support the future of technology and advance the smart home experience alongside Wi-Charge and Alarm.com.”
Customers expect to charge their mobile devices when visiting coffee shops and other public spaces. Newer phones, from all major manufacturers, support magnetic induction (“Qi”) charging, but venues that install charging pads find that they need to be near a power outlet.
Wi-Charge partnered with Kube Systems to combine a Qi-pad that charges the phone with a rechargeable battery that powers the pad and the Wi-Charge long-range power receiver that refills the rechargeable battery. It allows today’s phones to be charged by tomorrow’s power delivery technology. An integrated display that can deliver venue promotions and targeted advertising. These free-standing charging stations provide a convenient service for customers while increasing revenue and retention for the proprietors.
“The integrated solution allows all types of hospitality venues to enhance their customer’s experience while generating greater revenue at the same time. We are excited to partner with Wi-Charge and bring our joint solutions to market.”
ZKTeco USA worked with Wi-Charge to showcase the future of smart locks, integrating of a high-end multi biometric lock with the Wi-Charge power receiver.
Smart locks provide controlled, secure, and keyless access to homes and offices. However, smart locks often use batteries, and require their owners to replace the batteries several times a year or risk losing access. In addition, device manufacturers are limited in their ability to add functionality to these locks because of limited power budget.
With this integration, battery replacements are no longer required, and highly-desired capabilities can be added with ease.
“The convenient, stable and meaningful power that Wi-Charge delivers is an excellent building block for next-generation access control solutions.”
Wi-Charge and Monolicht collaborated to integrate Wi-Charge power transmitters into Monolicht’s lighting panels. The stylish light panels not only light a room but also safely provide meaningful power to smart mobile devices such as phones, security cameras and more.
Together, Wi-Charge and Monolicht are providing a peek into the future of lighting.
“We at Monolicht, are passionate about lighting and bringing cutting-edge innovations to our customers. Wi-Charge opens up a whole new market segment for us and adds significant value to light fixtures.”
Wi-Charge creates revolutionary power-at-a-distance technology that can deliver several watts at several meters. By becoming a partner, you can:
The future of power is not for everyone. It was famously said that pioneers are those with arrows in their backs. The paths to the future have some bumps, and for us that is part of the excitement.
If you share our vision of smart devices that appear to charge themselves, of magical user experiences that are not possible with batteries or power cords today, or providing freedom to your customers, then we let’s talk and see if we can work together.
